JP → US IPO Monitor: the calendar and where the cohort stands

日本→米国 IPOモニター:申請中の案件と足元のコホート

Japan's route to a US listing stayed open through the summer, if not busy. Advasa Holdings (ADBT) completed a Nasdaq direct listing in late August; eight more Japanese issuers sit on file, most of them small offerings still working through SEC review. Below is the forward calendar, and where the names that already listed actually trade.

Advasa (ADBT) is the most recent to reach the market. It builds and licenses earned-wage-access software — systems that plug into an employer's payroll and timekeeping to calculate accrued wages and move them to workers before payday — and monetizes a portfolio of EWA patents. It serves roughly a dozen clients, almost all in Japan, and has flagged expansion into the rest of Asia and the Middle East. It listed directly rather than raising primary capital, which is itself a tell: a direct listing skips the underwritten raise that sinks so many microcaps on a thin float.

The pipeline is real but shallow. Most of these are $15-30 million offerings priced in a $4-6 range — the same shape that has defined the Japan-to-Nasdaq cohort: small raises, thin floats, retail-facing bookrunners. The two recycling names, Koei and Seahawk, are the larger of the group; the rest are property and services businesses raising just enough to clear the exchange.

Where the cohort stands

JP → US IPO Market Snapshot

-59.8%

1/18
above IPO
8

The 18 Japanese companies trading on US exchanges sit at a median of about -60% against their IPO price. 1 is above its offer — PicoCELA (PCLA, +18%) leads; Linkage Global (LGCB, -99%) is the steepest decline. 8 more are on file.

None of this argues against a US listing. It argues for going in with the base rate in hand. The pipeline shows issuers still choose the route; the cohort shows what tends to happen to them afterward. Both numbers belong on the same page.
